COMMUNITY UPDATE: New Directors Including Other Things

Hey everyone,


    After a long conversation with higher staff and given the recent transfer of ownership to myself, a few changes needed to be made. First and foremost, I would like to thank @ iCamp for granting me this awesome opportunity, as well as the other former Directors, @ Pedro Deuces and @ lymbo, for the creation and support of SNG, as well as all of the guidance and support they have given me all this time. Secondly, it is my pleasure to congratulate both @ Hachi and @ MERICA on their promotions to Director! They are both incredibly qualified for this position, and I am excited to work alongside them for the betterment of SNG.


Day-to-Day Changes:


    Starting with the current rule regarding racism, we are now changing that rule to a zero-tolerance policy. Before, racist slurs were allowed in moderation, as long as no one was offended or being harassed. Moving forward, using racist slurs will result in a warning followed by a mute if you continue, similar to other voice and chat rules.

 


Rank Changes:


    We have decided that the lower ranks of SNG have gotten cluttered with a lot of admins no longer interested in their position in SNG. In order to clear out the lower ranks in SNG, higher staff and I have decided that anyone lower than Server Operator must message either myself or another staff member that they would like to continue to administrate the servers. Those who message a staff member must acknowledge that they will continue to be active and admin the servers to the best of their abilities and will be expected to uphold their statements.
Additionally, we have decided to lower the Super Admin cap for each server to four (4), with the exception of KZ and Jailbreak which will have a cap of six (6). 
Regarding the staff team, the Senior Admin rank is being removed, with all current Senior Admins either being promoted to Global Admin or demoted to retired staff. This change was made due to the fact that Senior Admin and Global Admin were essentially the same rank as far as their permission and duties, excluding their place in the hierarchy.
To replace Senior Admin, the Advisor role is now going to be considered a higher role than Operator and a part of the staff team with their duties redefined. Operators, instead of being promoted to Senior Admin, will be moved to Global instead. Advisors will be a staff rank in order to actively participate in staff conversation while maintaining contact with servers and Operators. With this, please bear in mind that Advisors will not receive the same forum permissions that Senior Admins did. This is a simple change to make Advisors play a bigger role in the community and separate them properly from Global Admins.
Moving forward, Retired Staff is now reserved for those who actually retire while they are staff; i.e., Operators will no longer get the Retired Staff role if they retire. Advisors will receive the role if they retire. Those that have received Retired Staff already will not be removed from this role.

 


Server & Council Changes:


    Leading a team is now primarily reserved for Head Admins (with exceptions of course). If promoted to Director while a team lead, they will no longer lead a team and a new team leader will be chosen by the previous lead. Leading a team will put you at a higher chance for promotion if below the rank of Head Admin. In regards to this change, with Hachi being promoted to Director, @ Klitch has been chosen to lead the Event Team, @ Jensyl has been chosen to lead the Mentorship Team, and @Jako has been chosen to lead the Interview Team.
    For those looking to apply for Server Admin in the future, the requirements have been updated to include a 20-hour playtime requirement
Due to lack of popularity and overall expense, it has been decided collectively that Deagle and Course will be deleted from our server list. 

 


Things to look out for:


    The event team is now working in conjunction with the staff team to put out our official awards ceremony for this year. This will happen sometime towards the end of the year (i.e. late November), and nomination/vote polls will be released after the announcement is made.
    Lastly, Member of the Month (MOTM) can be officially announced. The staff team and I will be working together to work out the kinks with that whole situation, but rest assured, it’s coming soon. 

 


TL;DR:
@ Diam0ndz is now in charge
@ Hachi & @ MERICA are now Directors
@ Pedro Deuces @ iCamp & @ lymbo have retired
@ Klitch has been promoted to Event Team lead and Head Admin
Racism is no longer tolerated on any SNG platform (servers, TeamSpeak, Discord, etc.)
Admins under Operator must message a Staff Member acknowledging that they will be active and admin to the best of their abilities
Admin applications will require at least 20 hours on the server prior alongside another form of activity such as on forums or Discord
A group of higher staff will come together to decide on admin applications one (1) month after the application is submitted rather than sitting on them for months on end.
Senior Admin is being removed, and all current Senior Admins will be moved to Global Admin, and Advisor is now becoming the lowest staff rank (without Senior equivalent perms on forums)
Course & Deagle are being removed
Awards Ceremony & MOTM are coming soon (no ™)
