Event Team Update Post

Hey everyone,
 

It’s been a bit since the Event Team has made any sort of post, but we’re here to hopefully start back up again in activity. We’ll be bringing a few changes and updates with this post with more hopefully down the road.

Roster

First, I would like to let you know of our current Event Team roster as some additions and dropouts have occurred:

The team has gone through several people within these past few months and has had immense help from people outside the team itself. Everyone involved has been a huge help and we thank you for the time you have given us. Anyone wishing to join the team is able to apply as we are looking for fresh faces in the group. Don’t be afraid to throw an application out there, we’ll be happy with new people joining.

Changes

Now to the small tweaks the team has made to better suit our current standings.

 

Weekly Game Night will be solely Pop a Server Night

We noticed that people were slowly losing interest in the small game nights that were being hosted. The same rotation of games were being played and most of these games have fallen out of interest with most people. To get some more activity in our community and, most importantly, our servers, we’ll be replacing the Weekly Game Night with Pop a Server Night. We’ll poll for which server(s) people wish to play and will form a group to hop on said server(s). During these events, prizes will be given out throughout the night with these prizes consisting of mostly ingame credits with the chance of VIP or other prize varieties. Even though we’re going away from the game night, we’ll host event nights every now and then where we’ll play a variety of games, movies, and whatever else people are wishing for. 

 

Photo Contest Continued

The weekly photo contest slowly fell out due to lack of participation. We’ll start this up again and see how the community responds. Same prizes will be given out to the top three winners. More information here.

 

Polling For Our Next Big Event

Our last major event was the Wingman Tourney that went fairly well. We had plenty of participation, had eSports-level casting, and our prizes actually got out to the winners. Our plans are to host events like these every 3-4 months with smaller events mixed in between to keep activity up. We have several events in mind including Rocket League 3v3, LoL 3v3, AWP tourney, and even another wingman tourney. A post will come out at a later date to poll for which game the community would like to see. We’ll mostly stray away from events that require teams larger than 3-4 people due to obvious reasons 

 

Question of the Day

Just like @Rain did for a short while, we’ll be prompting questions every day on the forums or discord (whichever the community prefers) and ask simple questions. Thats it. We’re wishing to bridge the gap between admins and members where neither group seems very involved with the other, so some light discussions are, hopefully, one step closer to breaking down this wall. The questions will be ranging anywhere from “What’s your favorite type of ice cream?” to “What’s your least favorite race?” (200m dash pretty dog won’t lie). 

 

Twitch Streaming

This is still in the works and will most likely be a test run for the most part. We’ll be streaming on SNG’s twitch channel every now and then with @Jako and @Box taking the reins. The games will be discussed later on, but expect gameplay from our servers, Valorant, and some League of Legends.

Although these updates may not be major, the team is stoked to try and bring some enjoyment to the community once again. Even if most of the people here are busy with IRL, we’ll continue to try our best to bring the community together again and hate on the Tango nerds. See y’all around the servers
